We believe we all have a responsibility to do our part to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus and other illnesses, especially to those at a higher risk due to age, compromised immunity, or pre-existing conditions—which includes many of our clients. By doing as much as we can to stay healthy ourselves, we lessen the burden on health care providers.
We believe reducing stress and staying healthy through massage therapy is important, and we look forward to helping all of our clients stay well as this virus runs its course.
As a former RN, I have always taken the risk of spreading any infectious disease seriously here at Rejuvenations. I want to share with you the specific steps we take.
First and foremost, I don’t allow our staff to work while experiencing any illness, even a mild cold.
The same goes for letting clients receive massage services when they’re sick. Massage is contraindicated (meaning it’s bad for you) when you are sick. And I don’t want there to be a chance of my employees getting ill because of people coming in sick.
Because of this ongoing policy, and the clinical cleanliness habits we have in place, our staff have historically have had few sick days.
In addition, these habits mean that even during heavy flu and cold seasons, our clinic poses a very low risk of exposure to respiratory infections.
We practice excellent hygiene (outlined below) and we are a low volume business. On average, roughly 20 people a day visit us. And, unlike other health type clinics, our clients are predominantly healthy.
As allied health professionals, our primary concern is keeping our clients and employees safe. We have been following the CDC guidelines, which focus on good hygiene that minimizes the risk of spreading germs, and will continue to do so.
- Our therapists thoroughly wash their hands before and after each massage.
- They disinfect the massage tables and head cradles after each massage.
- The receptionists use disinfectant on surfaces people touch throughout the day.
- Our professional cleaning company does deep cleanings after hours.
- We are asking employees and clients to please refrain from coming to the clinic if they’re not feeling well, as is always the case when it comes to illness, for their own health and the health of others. If a client or employee comes to the clinic immediately and disinfect the space.
Should the CDC make any additional recommendations regarding COVID-19, we will implement them immediately.
